What Hanna HR® is Hanna HR® is a modular precision reaming and fine boring system. The body of the tool is reusable; only the cutting insert is replaced. The HSK-A63, HSK-A100, SK40 or BT40 assembly is pulled from the spindle, the insert is swapped at the bench in ≤ 25 seconds, the screws are retorqued to 22.5 N·m, and the assembly is reclamped. The HSK / BT taper holds position, so no preset and no zero reset are needed. The procedure is ISO 16090-1 compliant — no manual intervention inside the machining envelope. ## 2. Tool clamping options include hydraulic chuck (Hydrodehnspannfutter), thermal shrink-fit, Weldon, and reduction collets. ## 5. The 25-second insert change Five M4×5 DIN 912 screws. Allen key. Bench fixture. Cycle: 1. Pull HSK / BT assembly from spindle. 2. Loosen the five screws. 3. Lift out the worn insert. 4. Seat the new insert on the precision pocket. Repeatability ≤ 3 µm — no micrometer readjustment. 5. Retorque to 22.5 N·m. 6. Reclamp into spindle. No preset. No zero reset. Resume cutting. Compliant with ISO 16090-1 because the operation happens outside the machining envelope. ## 6. ESG — why this matters at scale Tungsten and cobalt are critical raw materials. WC-Co (tungsten carbide with cobalt binder) is the dominant cutting material in industry. Cobalt is concentrated in the DRC (>70% of world reserves). Tungsten is concentrated in China (>80% of world refining). Every kilogram of WC avoided is roughly 28 kg of CO₂ avoided, plus a measurable reduction in geopolitical exposure for the plant. By replacing only the insert (a few grams) instead of the whole solid reamer (hundreds of grams), Hanna HR® cuts up to 85% of carbide consumption. Bodies are reusable for thousands of cycles. Inserts are refurbishable: cutting edges can be replaced, and the insert body reground multiple times before retirement. ## 7.
