ISO 16090-1 — Safety of Machining Centers
International safety standard for machining centers. Defines when tool handling is permitted without stopping the process.
ISO 16090-1 establishes that any intervention inside the machining envelope while the machine is powered is prohibited. The Hanna HR® insert change is compliant because it happens outside the envelope: the tool is removed from the spindle, the insert is changed on the bench, and the tool returns — without any handling inside the cutting area.
