Hole Finishing

Final stage of hole machining: ensures dimensional, geometric (cylindricity, roundness), and surface finish (Ra/Rz) tolerances.

Hole finishing is the operation that transforms a raw hole (drilled) into a functional hole (assembly of shafts, pins, bushings, bearing seats). It combines three tool families:

  • Reaming — standard H7, high productivity. See alargador.
  • Fine boring — H6 or better, custom Ø. See fine boring.
  • Internal Grinding — IT4-IT5, requires a dedicated machine.

The Hanna HR® system covers 90% of industrial applications with modular reaming: Ø 18.6 to 140.6 mm, tolerance from ±2.5 µm.
